Last week, I was finally able to take some days off of work, to travel back to Saigon to have some family time since my Dad and Aunt from Germany were there also.

Just a few hours before I headed to Narita airport, though I dropped my phone on the street, and on top of that a bicycle drove over it. As a result, I can be officially included into the long list of “people with cracked iPhone displays”.

I did not take pictures in Vietnam at all besides some Instagram shots (with my broken iPhone), and a couple of family pictures. But in case you have missed my Instagram pictures, please feel free to continue below

It’s been over 6 months now since I have seen them the last time before I moved to Tokyo, and I was super excited all along my way from Japan flying over Hong Kong to Vietnam. Despite the long transit time (10 hours !) in Hong Kong at a super cold airport, I would always jump right back into it again if that would mean to be able to see my family.

I was also there to attend to a family wedding, and I got to wear this beautiful blue lace dress AND high heels which I never get to wear in Tokyo... My Dad was betting that I would fall during the day which (luckily) DID NOT HAPPEN ! But yes, as much as I love heels, I would always gravitate towards my sneakers...

This is actually a dragon made out of fruits and vegetables, and even some garlic cloves

Travelling to Saigon always means being treated to amazingly tasty seafood by my lovely cousin. I spent the day with her and my aunt cruising on our motorbikes (me sitting in the back) through Saigon, and they showed me these small hidden markets which you can only enter through tiny tiny paths but once you managed to get to the end, you will those insider spots for fresh seafood and other ingredients. She showed me the different types of snails and mussels, and we ended up with crabs for dinner !
