Welcome to Cebu ! After a short stay in Singapore I flew to Cebu, Philippines afterwards for 5 days. I arrived at the airport in the early mornings and was very tired, but my eyes became wide awake the minute I was sitting in the cab ready to ride to my accomodation. Forget about energy drinks, coffee or warm fluffy pancakes. All you need is a half awaken Phillipino cab driver trying to maneuver his way through the already crowded but still dark streets at 4am in the morning. Driving in the Philippines is C-R-A-Z-Y.

Everything was gone when I woke up next morning, and went to my office with a view. Everything feels much calmer and relaxed when you have the beach and coconut palm trees around you accompanied by warm weather.
On last Saturday I went on a road trip with the crew, and again was being exposed to crazy traffic and maniac driving style in the Philippines. We were planning on driving up the mountain to Canso X for a great view and watching the sun set. It took us quite a while since the roads were very crowded with people walking on the streets as well as chickens, cats and goats passing the road every now and then. Also, we stopped at several places to buy some street food.

Speaking of C-R-A-Z-Y, while driving up the mountain hills the thought of ziplining suddenly crossed my mind, and mentioned to the crew that this would actually be a great spot for ziplining. Within the next 5 minutes we stopped at a ziplining spot called Adventure Cafe, and there was no going back for me. I was really nervous at first, but once you count down to '1' you just let go and rush down the line high above the trees, and enjoy the breeze, the view and beautiful nature surrounding you. It was a great experience and definitely not the last time I went ziplining.
We arrived at Canso X just in time to watch the sun set. Besides mosquito bites all over my body, it was a great way to end a long and exciting first day in Cebu along with trying Philippino food for the first time. You know you arrived in Cebu if you get 10 mosquito bites per day.
Day 2: I spent a day off at the beach all by myself at Crimson Resort. I went swimming in the ocean, lay around at the beach, and treated mself to a nice lunch at the restaurant.
Goodbye Cebu -until next time
